Why We're Building Front Desk

Two years ago, we looked at the existing software used to manage the gyms we own and work out in. We wanted to improve and extend some of these popular solutions. We quickly realized that the available tools were old, tired, and creaky. No one had rethought them in years—not a good foundation for the future.

Time for a fresh start. We decided to begin with our conviction that business owners need to focus on their clients instead of administrative tasks so we could provide the solution that business owners, their staff, and their clients deserve.

Every day we wake up passionate about making it easier for people to focus on their passions.

Jon Zimmerman CEO

Jon developed airline yield management systems for United and KLM, led teams to support marketing and pricing at Expedia and T-Mobile, and cofounded L1, a quantitative hedge fund.


Steve Brewer CTO

Steve was a lead engineer and product manager at Expedia and ran development for the startups RadioTime (now TuneIn) and Securityworks (acquired in 2009).


Travis Isaacs User Experience

Prior to starting Front Desk, Travis led the user experience practice at Improving Enterprises, a three-time Inc. 500-ranked consulting firm in Dallas, TX. He's also quite fond of coffee, bacon, and CrossFit.


Nicki Violetti Community

Nicki started the fourth CrossFit Affiliate. Men’s Health named it one of the Top 30 gyms in America. Nicki is a sought-after fitness business consultant and popular blogger.


Ben VandenBos Engineering

Former development manager at Avvo and Engineer at Expedia. Avid open source contributor to a variety of widely used libraries. He's also been voted "best hair" and "most Dutch" at Front Desk.


Andrew Coldham Engineering

Former CTO and co-founder of Trover, an iPhone App of the Week winner. Sr. Technical Director at Expedia.


Don Walker Engineering

Former development lead at Southwest.com. Consumer of large quantities of Dr. Pepper.


Emily Sullivan Sales

Emily has experience in both the Health & Fitness world as well as technology. She owns a Holistic Health Counseling business and regularly teaches fitness classes.

Charlie co-founded Parkio and ran client services and investor relations at TRX, a three-time Inc. 500 company.

Nick has over 30 years experience building leading-edge Analytic support systems in the Aerospace, Travel, Finance, Freight, and Web industries.


Pancho Gomez Customer Success

Pancho has a background in Consumer Experience at MindBody and promotions with Clif Bar. He is also a former outdoor adventure guide, and can often be found exploring the Sierra Nevadas. He does not eat bacon.


Dawn Ross Sales

Dawn is a passionate CrossFit coach and competitor. With experience owning a small massage business, she is driven to help others grow their businesses and achieve goals.

Laura Coombs Customer Success

Laura comes to Front Desk with experience in a variety of roles working in Tech, Financial Planning, Triathlon and Health Coaching and Sports Marketing. She enjoys spending her time outside, creating new recipes and participating in triathlons.


Jessica Stradley Sales

Jessica has over six years of customer service experience in retail and service businesses. She graduated with honors from Cal Poly San Luis Obispo in 2013 and enjoys an active outdoor lifestyle.


Mark Ashley Editorial

Mark helped choose the words that created the user experience of Bing, FreeHand, and other Microsoft, Aldus, and Adobe products. He has less hair but speaks more Dutch than Ben.
